Your tasks and responsibilities The Senior Manager, Consumer Insights - Nutritionals and Digestive Health, serves as a key partner to brand marketing and other business stakeholders to help grow our Leading Pharmaceutical Company Consumer Health (BCH) brands through a comprehensive understanding of consumers, the marketplace, and the business environment. This position supports our Nutritionals & Digestive Health brand portfolio which includes One A Day, Flintstones, MiraLAX, Alka Seltzer and Phillips. The incumbent serves as a subject matter expert and collaborates with cross-functional partners to understand and analyze key business questions, design and implement the appropriate research plans and develop actionable, business-driving recommendations. Leveraging an expertise in consumer empathy and a fluency across research methodologies, the Senior Manager, Consumer Insights develops a deep and profound understanding of key consumer segments to generate insights that unlock new opportunities and guide key business decisions and strategies for these brands. The Senior Manager is the champion in ensuring that the consumer s voice is heard in BCH. Part of a small, nimble team, the Senior Manager is partnered with a Consumer Insights Manager to be an integral consultant and strategic business partner to the marketing team. The primary responsibilities of this role, Senior Manager, Consumer Insights - Nutritionals and Digestive Health, are to: Lead a small, nimble team in gaining an understanding of the business challenges facing assigned brands, identifying knowledge gaps and prioritizing critical learning needs; Translate business partner questions into optimal learning plans designed to answer key questions relating to brand positioning, copy testing, and new product development among other brand focus areas. Fluent in key research designs, methods and analyses including but not limited to qualitative and quantitative analysis. Manage corresponding research budget to ensure that market research efforts support business objectives and maximize investment; Develop insightful recommendations from research results and synthesis with other data sources to positively impact the business challenge/ opportunity and successfully guide the ability for brands to meet their volume and profit commitments; Partner with Analytics & Insights counterparts to create compelling presentations and POV s to share with multiple levels of stakeholders, including Brand Marketing, Marketing Management and Senior Leadership; Champion a deep understanding of consumers among marketing and extended team members, including advertising agency, sales, digital and media agencies and R&D (among others), to ensure that brand initiatives and activations are consumer-led; Lead creation of brand audits, consumer shopper journey, and design targets for the Brand Plan process and ensure that this information has a direct impact on future plans; Serve as point person in the collaborative partnership with external research vendors. Ensure maximum ROI for all projects and ensure results lead to aligned and actionable recommendations. In concert with Procurement, negotiate favorable pricing and timing on a per project basis. Ensure that all research adheres to compliance and quality standards in design, execution, and analysis; Supervise day-to-day work of CI Manager to form a flexible team aligned with the business goals. More specifically related to this position, Leading Pharmaceutical Company seeks an incumbent who possesses the following: Required Qualifications: BS/BA degree or equivalent experience required; 10 years of custom research experience; must have expertise in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies. 3 or more years must have been spent conducting research on the manufacturer side; Strong background in statistics and analysis. Strong oral, written and presentation skills; Professional, proactive, collaborative, entrepreneurial. Able to provide independent, objective viewpoint based on data, business experience; Creative in developing solutions and applying new techniques.
